Brent Westrop, Executive Director of DDES. Prior to joining the DDES community in 2021, Brent served as a school leader at a large elementary school in Southwest Denver and as a special education teacher at a Denver middle school. Before entering the field of education, Brent worked for close to 10 years as a corporate lawyer for firms in Toronto, New York and Denver. Brent is originally from Canada, where he spent many summers exploring the Canadian Rockies with his family. Brent and his wife live in Denver with their 5 year old son, 1 year old daughter and overactive dog. When he’s not at school, Brent enjoys skiing, hiking, running and cooking.
