Aubrey grew up loving music and performing arts. She pursued her love for music by attending Berklee College of Music in Boston, graduating with a degree in Music Education. Aubrey relocated to Chicago to join a service program aiming to provide high quality teachers to inner city schools. While teaching in Chicago, Aubrey obtained her Masters in Education and Social Policy from Northwestern University. Aubrey taught 5th-7th grade in Chicago for 11 years prior to joining the DDES team as a founding 5th grade Crew Leader in 2016! In 2019, Aubrey joined the leadership team and served as Dean of Curriculum and Culture and Principal prior to moving into her current role as Executive Director. Outside of the DDES, Aubrey enjoys playing music and spending time with her son and husband.
