DDES takes a problem-solving approach to math instruction. We pose compelling contextualized math problems to students through a launch, then allow them to grapple independently, before coming together to engage in mathematical discourse. This enables students to build strong conceptual understandings, and engage with math concepts in a way that encourages flexibility and transfer. The following videos show math in action at DDES!
