Derek “Wanagi Ite” Nedland, 3rd Grade TA, was born in South Dakota but grew up in the Northern Suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. He graduated from Carthage College as a student-athlete in 2021 with a Bachelors in Communication from Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin. After moving to Milwaukee during college he realized a bigger city is what he needed and soon after graduating, made the big move out here to join his brother and longtime love of Colorado sports. After spending a year at a restaurant as a Manager, he found the wonderful opportunity to make a bigger impact on the world here at DDES as a teaching assistant, he loves helping students become the best learners they can. In his free time he likes to watch movies, Denver sports teams and learn more about his indigenous heritage. In the springtime and summer he coaches lacrosse.
