DDES partners with My Kids Lunch and CharterChoice Collaborative (our School Food Authorizer) to provide healthy meals to students. We offer breakfast and lunch service to all DDES students. Both meals are served in the classrooms, allowing for a flexible meal-time schedule.
How Do I Order School Meals?
To ensure we have enough food available for all participating families, please complete the breakfast and lunch order forms. Orders are due every other Monday by 5 p.m.
A few important notes to keep in mind:
- If your child has allergies or special dietary needs, please reach out to the front office for a meal modification form. The front office will work with the food vendor, your child’s Crew leader and food server to ensure your child’s dietary needs are met.
- Order forms are available on our website (see buttons above) as well as on the ReachWell App.
- Using this online order form, pre-order meals two weeks in advance. Pre-ordering helps lower waste and ensures we have enough meals for every child that needs one.
- Indicate for which days you would like to order breakfast and lunch during that two-week window.
Note: If your child plans to participate everyday, this form will only need to be filled out once at the beginning of the school year.
Meals are Free for Students
DDES is excited to participate in the Healthy School Meals for All program, a statewide program approved by Colorado voters. DDES offers free breakfast and lunch to all students for the 2024-25 school year.
Family Economic Data Survey
Please note that even though meals will be provided for free, it is important for families to continue sharing household income information in order for DDES to receive full access to federal funding. We strongly encourage all families to complete the Family Economic Data Survey (previously the Free & Reduced Lunch application). If needed, paper applications will be made available at the school.
DDES submits this data for state funding; no one at the school has access to the information shared in it.
We ask that ALL families complete the Family Economic Data Survey, even if you know you most likely do not qualify and do not plan to have your child participate in school meals. (DDES does not partner with DPS for our meal program, so families need to please complete the Family Economic Data Survey provided by DDES and CharterChoice.) Once the application is processed, CharterChoice Collaborative will send out letters of eligibility. If an email was provided on the application, eligibility notification will be sent to the email provided.
This application is crucial for other services and for the amount of federal funding our school will receive for our programs, so thank you for taking the time to complete it!
