Special Education
Hello! My name is Jenna, and this is my second year at DDES working as the lower elementary special education teacher. I am fortunate to work with your kinder, first, and second grade students on achieving their individualized education goals!
I always knew that I wanted to be a teacher. As a child, I would ask my grandfather, who was also a teacher, to play school with me. He would make “homework” for me, and grade it as if I were his student. It was my grandfather who encouraged me to become a teacher, and I am forever grateful that he did!
I began my studies in Ontario at the University of Toronto, and graduated from Metropolitan University with a BA in Special Education, and an endorsement in elementary education. I was born in Canada, and became a dual citizen in 2024! I live with my husband, and our three fur babies (Hercules the Husky, Roo the Belgian Malinois, and Oliver the Tabby). In my free time, I enjoy going on walks, watercolor painting, and taking care of my 100+ houseplants.ย
