Kindergarten TA
Hello! My name is Avery Head (She/Her/Hers). I am a paraprofessional and part of the behavioral support team! I love having the chance to learn collaboratively with each student to help them each excel in their unique ways.
I have lived in Denver for the past five years and have loved getting to know different communities around the city. I was raised in Louisville, Kentucky where I fostered my love for learning through volunteer tutoring, working part-time in childcare and taking part in many learning experiences around the city. I graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a minor in Communication in 2019. Most of my studies focused on Children’s Education Research. I have done Early Childhood Professional Development in Kentucky and Colorado. Out of college, I worked at a preschool in Kentucky as an assistant teacher in both the threes and Pre-k for two years. Since I moved to Denver I have worked as a lead teacher for both threes and Pre-K. This is my fourth year at DDES, and I have worked as a teaching assistant for Kindergarten and a Paraprofessional during my time here.
When I am not at school I love being outside. I enjoy hiking, going to concerts, seeing musicals and movies, traveling, painting, and reading.
